Beginner Sewing
If you have never sewn before, our Machine Basics Class is the the best place to start. That class teaches you basic machine operations gets you started sewing. It’s 1 1/2 hours long and we offer it several times a week.
Beginning students should follow up with an Intro-to-Sewing class. We've created a series of 2-class workshops where you learn to apply the skills you learned in Machine Basics. Materials are included included in cost of of our intro-to-sewing classes.
Weekly Classes Kids-Adults
For those who are familiar with sewing and patterns & are ready to embark on a regular sewing practice, need support on a specific project or want to join a community of like minded stitchers we offer Weekly Studio Classes with expert instructors. - Pre-requisite - All students must first take Machine Basics or already know how to operate the Sewing Machine.
Alternatively, private lessons provides you with one-on-one hands on instruction, giving you the confidence to move forward.
Fashion studies program
Fashion Studies is an accelerated Fashion program for Middle and High School Students. In this semester long program, students learn the fundamentals of Fashion Design while being taught & mentored by industry professionals.
Through this program, students build a strong foundation of fashion centered skills while building their portfolio(s) and preparing for deeper study. please note: curriculum changes each semester.
Specialty Classes
Beyond the machine and apparel sewing we offer a myriad of specialty classes and workshops developed to ignite your creativity.
Hand Sewing, Embroidery, Knitting, Crochet, Fabric Collage as well as Japanese techniques like Boro and Sashiko are only some of the many crafty classes we offer.

Class sizes are 4-6 (up to 10 for camps) students MAX . We love to help provide you with sewing supplies and stock a range of fabrics as well as tools and notions. You can view most of our supplies in our Etsy Shop, but are welcome to visit us in person.
Introducing Open Sew Time
Book time in the studio to work on your project, use our sewing machines, tools and the cutting tables. An attendant is available to help with machines but not available as an instructor. This option is GREAT for stitchers needing extra room, the motivation of a group setting or those who don’t own their own machines.

Inside The Sewing Room
In our Classroom you will find everything you need to start sewing. We have sewing machines for up to 10 students and several large cutting tables in addition to scissors, measuring tapes and plenty of seam rippers. The use of our machines and tools is included in the price of classes and camps at THE SEWING ROOM. Please visit our Shop page to see our store selection of patterns, fabric & machines for sale.
